Gone Is the Night, is a collection of contemporary ceramic sculptures that are embodied meditations on memory and self. Working through the still of the night, Barclay explores the complexities of agitation and relief, using tone and texture to create tension and soothe the discomfort of her late-night ruminations. Her large bulging, bodily forms shimmer with glaze as they slump over metal plinths, exposing the contradiction of material and form, and the precarious nature of emotion.
