‘Where Do The Birds Sleep Now?’ is a new series that explores a personal notion of trauma, labouring over the delicate temperament of the ceramic medium to imitate a feeling of deep anxiety and pain. I draw solace in the parallels between trauma of the body, mind and the land.

The visceral quality of exploited landscapes penetrates through my process as I manipulate bulging textural forms. Through the process of making this collection, my own body was compromised from the repetitive mark making. This became a language to communicate the pain embodied in the forms.
